The Courts of South Beach are located in the ultra hot "South of Fifth" district of South Beach. The Courts of South Beach were one of the first luxury condos to be built South of Fifth and led the way for many other condominiums to be developed there. While most of the new buildings are modern in design, The Courts of South Beach offers a unique Mediterranean design and feel.
The Courts at South Beach is a unique and private 8.5 acre community in the heart of South Beach. The community is enclosed with mid-rise Mediterranean buildings and centrally located is an elaborate 3.5 acre private piazza with a large pool inspired by the Delano Hotel pool. The Courts of South Beach were designed by renowned architect Jaime Schapiro. The Courts at South Beach feature twelve courtyards and a large central piazza, surrounded by several buildings. This offers residents a very private and pleasing ambience. The buildings themselves touch the sidewalk edges, meshing into the streetscape and serving as buffers. "By creating a dense pattern of courtyards around which the units are built, we created an intimate community," says Schapiro. The interior boasts a pool, private gardens, rooftop terraces, and a health club. Schapiro also designed public spaces including a library, day care center and retail shops. Additionally, Schapiro took careful measures to have the units face both the street and the interior courtyard. This double exposure maximizes natural light and invites in the beach's tropical air.
